Message When I purchased my Z from Seb I asked him what other modifications he would have done had he not sold it. He said one of the first things he would have done was switch back to a stock shifter for dragging purposes, and he highly recommended me doing so if I planned to do any drag. Greg agreed with him on this point and preceded to explain to me why.

I don't want butcher his explanation, but it was something having to do with engine speed not matching the the speed of the rest of the drivetrain if you shift too quickly. Too quickly meaning by use of the short shifter. He said that it would likely reduce the life of my new tranny, and also suggested changing it out.

I mentioned this to a friend and he said that some Honda's have the same sort of issue and develop bad syncro's, eventually having to switch back to stock which generally would take care of the problem.

So my question to you guys is, why hasn't this been addressed before? Or has it and I just haven't ever seen anything about it? I plan on swapping it out with another member here *hint hint* and putting in some SPL brass shifter bushings.

Anyhow, just thought I might start an argum, I meant discussion;).
